Learn more about the Early Act First Knight Program! With Speaker Dr.Randall Parr

Randall is former United States Navy officer (Chaplain Corps), where he provided care for Marines, Sailors and their families, both in the USA and abroad. He developed ethics training programs for the Navy; briefed Marine Battalion commanders on Islamic culture prior to their Middle East deployments
for Operations Desert Storm & Desert Shield; produced orientation films for new Chaplain candidates assigned to the Marines Corps; served as liaison officer between the Third Marine Division and local community officials in Okinawa, Japan, and organized large-scale multimedia confidence-building events for boot camp recruits stationed at Navy, Marine Corps, Army, and Air Force training commands across the nation.

Randall became a reservist in 1994 in order to design Social/Emotional Learning and Character-building programs for students in elementary and middle schools. His inaugural effort, called ”The Knight Life”, earned a grant from the Washington Times, along with a Community Service Citation for his work with children from members of the United States Senate and Congress in 2000. ”The Knight Life” then began
accepting sponsorships from Rotary Clubs under a new name, “EarlyAct FirstKnight” (or EAFK), in 2006.
EAFK is a unique, proprietary, curriculum-based classroom program that examines historical and contemporary luminaries along with the noble life- choices they made which benefitted their societies.

EAFK is a mandatory course of study for all students in sponsored schools, helping children to understand
and develop strong moral character and core social skills during their most formative years. These skills include self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision-making.

At the heart of EAFK’s curriculum is the “Four Way Test”, which serves as the daily class charge
recited by all grade levels. Their campus-wide, ceremonial student award events have been personally visited and participated in by six Rotary International Presidents (namely, Wilfrid Wilkinson, John Germ, Ravi Ravindran, Gary Huang, Sakuji Tanaka, and Kaylan Banerjee). Randall is an honorary member of the Rotary Club of Boerne, and resides in Spring Branch, Texas with his wife, Amber.
