Engineers Without Borders

Lizzie Wilson and Ayah Alomari will join us to tell us all about our Engineers Without Borders serves our community and does good works throughout the world.

Lizzie Wilson  has been an active EWB volunteer since 2011, as a freshman in the SMU student chapter. At SMU, she participated in several projects, including as project lead for the Rwanda project in 2014 and as a travel team member for the Bolivia project in 2017. Her master’s research was conducted on water and soil samples from the EWB SMU partner community in Bolivia. Since 2019, Lizzie has served in many roles for the Greater Austin Chapter, including project design and travel team member, web administrator, fundraiser, and chapter president.

Ayah Alomari is  a native Austinite with love of built environments and humanitarian work. She recently graduated from UT Austin with a M.S. in Structural Engineering and B.S. in Civil Engineering and is now a practicing EIT at KPFF Consulting Engineers. She joined EWB ATX in 2020 and has served on the Tanzania project as both a fundraiser and a Health Safety Officer for their in-country travel in August 2022. In her free time she enjoys Dungeons and Dragons, hanging out with her family chickens, and kayaking around Red Bud Isle.
