Join us as we learn about AGE of Central Texas and the services that they provide for our community. Our speakers will be Patti Tauber, Board President and Mary Koffend, Founder Accountable Aging Care Management.

Patti Tauber – Board President
REALTOR®, GRI, SRES, Carol Dochen Realtors, Inc.
Patti serves as the President of the Board of Directors for AGE of Central Texas. As a longtime resident of the Austin area, her personal knowledge and experience is a great advantage for her clients. She specializes in working with clients in the North Austin communities and helping adults 50+ in downsizing to new homes. Patti has a Master’s degree in Social Work from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan along with a certificate in Gerontology. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Arts and Sciences from Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan. Patti practiced Geriatric Social Work for 10 years in Michigan. Patti has always given back to the community and is an involved member of the Temple Beth Shalom, the National Council of Jewish Women, the Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce, and is a Board member at AGE of Central Texas. Patti lives in Austin with her husband Kevin and together they have four grown children living in destinations across the U.S. (Hawaii, Illinois, Michigan, and Florida). At home, they enjoy living with their two dogs, Henry and Austin, and their wonderful cat, Q-Ball.


Mary Koffend
Founder
Accountable Aging Care Management
After graduating from The University of Texas at Austin, Mary began her professional career with the Social Security Administration and served in many positions within the agency. For the last 15 years, she was responsible for Houston’s largest and most complex SSA client service operation, one of the largest in the U.S. Mary then became the manager of the Medicaid provider services programs for the State of Texas. In 2002, Mary and her husband Mick, founded Accountable Aging Care Management. She provided direct services and managed the company until selling it to Genova Health in 2018. She continues to provide consulting services. Mary’s career focus has been caring for elderly and disabled persons.
Mary served on the Board of Directors of Adult Protective Services (APS) and on the Board of Directors of AGE of Central Texas. She has served on leadership positions at her church and at the church’s food pantry. She is a member of a great book club and loves reading, especially mysteries. Her favorite pastime is being with her daughters and six grandchildren and serving as a seedling mentor for a soon to be 3rd grader.
