About the Austin Cosmopolitan Rotary Club

The Austin Cosmopolitan Rotary Club (ACRC) was founded in 2007 on the principals of fellowship, service and innovative networking to engage motivated young professional in the ideals of Rotary International. ACRC embraces a hands-on approach to address challenging and worthwhile community needs both locally and internationally and operates on a solid structure of commitment to volunteerism.
ACRC is a unique group of approximately 40 young professionals from a variety of industries who meet weekly to learn from guest speakers and build friendships with community-minded peers. Our focus attracts individuals of generations X and Y, and we are considered a "young" club within Rotary. ACRC has more than doubled in size since our founding and continues to initiate new members each month. Our members demonstrate their commitment to Austin by serving as directors and officers not only in Rotary, but in other civic and professional organizations across the city, the U.S. and abroad.
Adhering to Rotary's motto of "Service above Self", the main emphasis of our growing club is to carry out community service projects to benefit both the local and international community. In the past three years we have completed projects with KaBOOM and Southwest Key, GENAustin, Habitat for Humanity, the Austin CAN! Academy Robotics team, Book Spring early literacy program, Explore Austin, Communities in Schools, Libraries of Love, and the Austin Parks Foundation. ACRC is also involved in international projects – in 2010 we raised over $7,000 for WellAware to build a water catchment system at a school in Kenya, and in 2009 we sponsored a project to build a mobile cervical cancer screening center that was deployed in Huejutla, Mexico.
We invite you to visit our website at www.austincrc.org to learn more about our club and how we are working to improve our local and global communities.
